Loaves & Fishes

Loaves & Fishes feeds the hungry and shelters the homeless. They provide an oasis of welcome, safety, and cleanliness for homeless men, women and children seeking survival services.
Loaves & Fishes Dining Room serves a full course, home-cooked, noontime meal for 600-800 homeless guests every day. A separate dining room is available for women and children each morning for breakfast through the Loaves & Fishes Maryhouse Program.
On May 12, Loaves and Fishes is expecting 20 – 30 volunteers from KW to help in the dining room at the hours of 10:30 – 1:30 pm. The volunteers are expected to prepare, serve, clean, and be an encouragement for all the guest coming that day.
Teen Challenge
Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge is committed to the transformation of those who have life-controlling problems. SVTC oversees an array of community outreach programs besides operating four residential Christian discipleship centers locally. The centers house over ninety men and women while they undergo the 12 to 18 month Christian-life training program. They work with adults 18 years of age and over, with no maximum age. Minors are referred to other Teen Challenge centers or Christian programs that handle only minors. They’re ready to serve any one in need regardless of ethnic, socio-economic, or religious backgrounds.
Teen Challenges has a phenomenal success rate, one of the most recent studies found that 86% of those completing the program remained drug free. It’s recognized as one of the oldest, largest, and the most successful programs of its type in the world today.

This center is the beginning place for up to 16 men desiring to enter the SVTC program. They stay here for 4 to 6 weeks before being referred to the New Life Training Center in Sacramento, or any number of other Teen Challenge centers across the state or country.

The New Life Training Center is a full-length center which cares for 20 men at a time who are referred to it from the Sacramento Crisis Center. Here the men will complete the 12 to 18 month live in program.
